R2Y 'So you think you can sing..' karaoke competition 2007
That's right! If you think you can sing and beat the rest, well this event then is for you. Who knows? maybe you get to become the next karaoke champion... In the past, we have un-officially held two un-official karaoke competition of which Mr. Ivan Kok was the 1st karaoke champion with 99 points singging (deleted for security purpose) song. However, in our 2nd un-official karaoke competition, Ivan cannot repeat his grand singging and Mr. Ang Wei Loong succeeded him singging his favourite christmas song (song cannot be disclosed here) and scored himself 99 points. This time, the championship is up for the grab again. Mr. Ivan Kok and defending champion, Mr. Ang Wei Loong has confirmed their participation in this competition. Will Wei Loong get to keep his title? Will Ivan discover back his talent? Or will there be a new champion of this competition...
The race is on to preserve your voice box until 16th November 2007.
There will be prizes for 3 different categories this year.
1) Best Female Artist (with highest points)
2) Best Male Artist (with highest points)
3) Best Random Foreign song artist (combined male and female)
Songs has to be chosen before the competition begins to avoid delays. You can choose your songs this Friday (9th Nov 2007) at your respective participating cell group. If you do not have the song list, you can choose your songs by posting on this chatbox and we will confirm the reservation. To avoid other artist and general audience from falling asleep, the same song cannot be sung twice by the any artist. Once the song is played, you cannot demand for a re-play. You have to be ready to sing at all time...
By the way, if you notice, there's no category for best group so that means you are on your own this time. No back-ups, no praise singers.. this is a solo event. However, should your singging excite the crowd and audience to back you up, the organiser will approve of it. Please note that the crowd participation may increase or decrease your winning chances depending on their singging but you cannot ask for a re-count of points. All points scored are final at the end of the song.
The organiser will not entertain any request for contest after the song.
Since the judging is done based on the state of the art, modern technology digital scoring with no human interference, the competition is open to everyone including the organiser :) of course, the organiser has the right to determine who goes first.
