The Ranger Basic handbook speaks of how a ranger grows and what he will face through his life especially in church and how the commanders play an important role in the ranger's life! Basically this handbook speaks of Soul Winning, The Royal Rangers Organizational Structure, The Disciplinary Acts as a Ranger, Potpourri! In a nutshell, this course acts as a eye opener to all leaders who attended on what the Ranger Ministry actually mean and how it plays a role in the Ranger Boys and Girls physical, mental, spiritual and social life. Furthermore, it is also a stepping stone where the leaders would move on to achieve the Leader's Medal of Achievement! From there, leaders would have the privilege to attend further courses when they finish the proper requirements to achieve the LMA like attending the Advance National Training Camp, National Training Conference, National Training Trail and finally the National Academy! (on a personal note; that is my goal=]) Anyways now that a handful of us have gone through the Rangers Basic course, we are now aiming for our LMA which classes would commence on the 16th of February 2008.

Also a big THANK YOU to ranger Aaron Kumar, Cornelius and Alex Yong for helping out with the cleaning and re-arranging of the Royal Rangers store room. You guys did a great job! I hear that the store-room now can fit 20+ rangers inside. Next is the up-keeping of store. (Hmm…What happened to the rest?)
On a different subject, you can hear another festival coming up around the corner. It’s the Chinese New Year celebration and we will be having our Chinese New Year Party on 3rd February 2008. The theme this year is still RED and fancy costume will be Ang-pow hat competition. This competition is opened to all rangers on individual basis, not per patrol. So start cracking your head, keep some ang-pow packets and come with your most fancy ang-pow hat, this Chinese New year celebration. Prizes will be given to all winners. There’ll be games and presentation as well.
Here are some hat designs for your consideration...

This is made of toilet paper wei... yes, it is. By the way, the above designs are to give you some ideas of how to make a fancy hat. For the competition of course, you have to make it out of red packets or best known as Ang Pow packet.
All the best, Rangers!
