Blessed New Year

Blessed New Year, guys and gals.

I know this is long overdue but I did mention that December is a very, very busy month. Haha.. Anyway, I hope everyone is feeling great as we step into the New Year. Recently, I had a conversation with a fellow Royal Rangers Leader and we spoke in great length on our past experiences. I was sharing with her about my life story and how each experience help makes me a stronger person and brought me to where I am right now.

We spoke about relationship and I was sharing my love story to her. How I met Patrina? How I made her fall head over heels? How I plan my moves? (I am getting you all excited eh? Ok, guys… and only open to guys, if interested, I will have a class on “MAN IN DEMAND” and we will cover topic like ‘Each of us have shares’, ‘How to increase our shares?’, ‘Respecting a lady’…and etc… hehe…) Ok, back to the love story, among the above discussed, one was how we started our relationship. This I remembered very specifically and not to boast but to share with you, the very moment after I’ve popped the BIG question ‘will you be my girlfriend?’ and her immediate reply, we held hands and we PRAYED! We prayed that God will help us, lead us and guide us through this relationship. That was 4 years ago and I’m happily married 1 year plus now. And I believe it is because we started off RIGHT at the very beginning, God ensure we stayed RIGHT towards the end. We had our ups and downs but God was there, kept us back alRIGHT every time.

So Leaders and Rangers, as we start off this year, it is never too late to START IT RIGHT with God. Amen!

Right now, I need your help. Yes, you… reading this… your help. I need you to close your eyes, go back to time, to the 16th of December 2007, the Celebration of Hope Christmas Harvest event.

It was a fantabulous celebration. An estimated total of 30+ boys and girls came to R2Y cell and joined in the Hope celebration. Out of this figure, 10-11 of them were first timers to the cell. Praise God.
We started off with makan and fellowship before proceeding to ice-breaker games. Cmdr. Yang graciously volunteers to help out with the games (since he’s going off to UK, want to leave with impact) and we played ‘the blanket game’. Cmdr. Yang, assisted by Jimmy Lim and Wei Loong did extremely well in making sure everyone had fun.

We then move on to the celebration of hope movie screening. A story about a person who thinks he has everything only to lose all of them and at the end of the day discover that there has to be a purpose in life. More than just living and dying, more than just trying to get pass through the day. There has to be more to this life. And then, found someone who gave up His life so that we can live ours. Jesus Christ ~ the reason for the celebration of Hope.

The seed was sown as we shared the good news to all the newcomers.
We then had gift exchange before ending the party and going home. Here are some of the gifts they received:-

I have to say this tho’ … Last year, our Cmdr Ivan Kok received TESCO biscuit for his gift exchange. This year, he received a magic box... with a special pet.
Merry Christmas Cmdr Ivan and all… yes, I know… it is over already…boo hoo...
