That's right, guys and girls.. This Friday (7th September 2007), R2Y will be showing the movie 'EVAN ALMIGHTY' on a wide screen in our cell. FREE admission and best of all, refreshment is provided. Seating is on first come first serve basis so come early to avoid disappointment. Show starts sharp at 8:15pm and runs approximately for 2 hours. Invite your friends and your enemies, as well :)
This movie screening is made possible not just for the fun of it. Besides providing us with a good time of laughter and fellowship, it also rings a question on building an ark in the 20th century? I'm not talking about the ark as in a big ship or boat. I am talking about the ark of the covenant. In those days, the Priest carried the Ark of the Covenant which contains the tables of Jewish law and where the Ark resides, the presence of God was there. Everyone worship the Lord in awe and holy reverance. Now, Jesus made a way for God's presence to reside in our hearts. The ark now is in us and we build the ark everyday by communing and fellowshiping with God Himself. The floods of this world (stress, peer pressure, school, work... etc) will try to drown us but if we have our ark built, we will sail through the storms of life and see a rainbow ahead. That's God promise to us.
