It has been more than 2 month now since R2Y (Reaching 2 You) cell started and we have seen the cell went through some victorious moment (the opening day itself) and also some trying times (keeping the members coming regularly week in and week out). We realize now that those trying moments were the building of foundation time. There were times when we just want to call it quits, there were times when we didn’t feel like having cell at all. Many times, cell was called off due to lack of quorum (people). Cornelius Raj and Dexter Teh remained to be the most faithful members of our cell, never failing to attend cell and encouraging others to come as well. Don Desmond will travel back from his college, all the way from Malacca just to be with us. Cmdr. Ivan Kok and Pastor Mike will come whenever they are available and we appreciate their sacrifices. However, in the beginning, there were just 3 of them…
Since when do we need to have a quorum to have cell? How many people do we need to start a cell? These were the question asked at one particular cell meeting when there were only 2 members in attendance. That is when we’ve decided that we will have cell irregardless of the number of people so long as the Name of the Lord is lifted high. We prayed that night. We asked for God’s forgiveness, for looking at our own strength rather than His, for looking at our own source for people rather than His, for trying to make this cell our cell rather than His. We prayed for God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
And God began to open doors… Dexter Teh brought in Joshua Soon and his brother Ezra. From there, we make an alliance with Brian Chow who leads LaSalle CF (Christian Fellowship) and he brought in Frederick, Adrian Yap, Jonathan, Matthew, Aurther Keng and Lim An Drew. Cornelius Raj brought in his brother, Abel Raj who makes it a point to attend cell even though he has tuition on Friday.
Now, we have a weekly attendance of more than 10 people at every cell meeting. Isn’t God great? And this was just the beginning of a beginning. We haven’t told you about how God works miracles in our family after we prayed? How we intervened for the 23 South Korean missionaries currently held hostage in Afghanistan? How we prayed for every schools and discovered hope? And on a more jovial side, we get to tune into the weekly episode of one of our member’s amazing life story? (Currently playing episode 3)
So if you are reading this and currently cell-less, we cordially invite you to join us, the R2Y cell every Friday at Prima Bayu Apartment. Call us (Cmdr. Kwang Yew 012-2310357, Dexter Teh 016-3353110 or Brian Chow 017-6796367) for direction and transport. As we do our part in reaching to you, may you do yours in reaching to others…
