1st July 2007 (Sunday) – The Expedition Rangers of Selangor #1, they had a Gold bar meeting just to plan for today. They all (well, most who have their uniforms) wore their uniforms proudly, hopefully not just for today. Some even contributed in wearing half a uniform just for today. Cmdr. Pretty Boy (not his real name), the game master have spend his week, planning, plotting, preparing just for today. Why so significant, you may ask? Is it because it is the 1st day of the 7th month in the 2007 year? Well, in a way.. It is the 1st day of the 7th month in the year 2007! However, that was not the main reason… The main reason is… the welcoming of the Expedition Rangers of Selangor #7.
Yes, the ER guys and girls from Seven (another significant resemblance on this significant day) came to Selangor #1 for a visit with the objective of building friendship and fellowship together. It was the first of this kind of meeting and we have to thank Cmdr. Darren Teoh of Sel # 7 for initiating such meeting. From the moment the ER from Seven came, the atmosphere in Grace Klang was hyped up and even more, when they participated in the apples & lychee game, to the time they left back to PJ. That Sunday was made special and different just by their presence.
We had an ice breaker before going in to parade and I have to state, the ER from Seven looked steadily elegant with their full (and I believe) complete uniform. Somehow, there’s a sense of togetherness and belonging when we are wearing our RR uniforms. Somehow, we look much better and more elegant when we take pride in wearing our uniforms. I hope I am getting some message across here… ehem… guys… girls… ER from outpost One, are you getting it?
The ER from Seven joined in our patrol corner and there, they got to know each other better. However, the highlight of the day is the apple and lychee game, thanks to the Gold bar staff and our Cmdr. Pretty Boy (real name hidden to protect his identity, so that if we do go and visit ER Seven, his life will be spared). The ER boys and girls had so much fun, even the little Discovery boy, Kevin Wong was left wondering when his turn for fun will come.
But the day has to end and as the time approaches, we all had to bid our goodbyes. We took the opportunity to take some group photo as well as some individual ones.
Once again, we would like to thank ER from Selangor # 7 for coming down to Klang and we hope that you have had an enjoyable time with us just as we had with your company. We look forward to maintaining and building on this rock of friendship that has been laid today.
